Andrew Revkin’s Post

All the prescriptions and warnings pointing to pandemic threats and a mix of climate vulnerability and climate change have been clear for decades. Yet failures to prepare and respond have cost, and could continue to cost, societies and economies dearly. Lessons learned are critical - the disaster review board would be a good start, we will be better prepared for pandemic as Alice suggested next time but we must do better for ourselves

The global climate shift of +1.5 degrees preparation is known but as Ann mentioned not being addressed locally or at the personal level - we have to increase knowledge/understanding such that people aren’t in a position to respond after its to late

In Canada there have been lawsuits from developers who purchased land that's disappearing into the sea about non-climate-change informed flood plain maps. Anything like that happening in the US yet?
