File Name: The Bigg Character Pack.
File Submitter: the bigg
File Submitted: 07 Sep 2010
File Category: Miscellaneous Released Mods

This is a collection of portrait and soundset packages. As of now, all the packages in this mod are ripped from characters from Valve games.

Current contents:

Alyx Vance (from Half Life 2): a good-natured, strong-headed girl in her twenties. © 2004-2010 Valve Inc, voice actor: Merle Dandridge.
Jane Doe "the Soldier" (from Team Fortress 2): a battle obsessed, Chaotic Neutral man in his thirties. © 2007-2010 Valve Inc, voice actor: Rick May.

If TobEx is also installed, the soundsets will have proper subtitles.

See the readme for further information.

Any portions of this mod (or the mod itself) will be removed as soon as I receive objections to it from the legal copyright holders.

Updated to 1.02 - fixed a bug that was preventing installation on OSX and Linux (thanks to Mike1072 for spotting the error).

Tbh i think you should contact the Team Fortress 2 guys yourself and let them know about the good work you have done here. They would probably put it up on their TF2 blog: http://www.TeamFortress.com

I remember when they highlighted this game: Gang Garrison 2 - developed by 'Faucet' and powered by 'Gas'. http://ganggarrison.com

They seem to like and encourage modders and outside development - other people have created programs and tools like item and backpack viewers for example that shows you the contents of your characters items - uses images etc from the actual game, but the developers on TF2 dont seem to worry about that.

I cant say for sure of course, but i would think they may have a positive approach to your work.

I'm not 100% sure they'll talk on their blog about a game that's not currently available on Steam (and is available on GOG), but I think I'll submit this once I make nine soundsets (sometimes in 2014 given how fast I usually work).

I like this package, it's always nice for some more neat and complete soundsets. Looking forward to the rest of the 9 soundsets whenever you can make them. Thanks

Doesn't look like so to me. Source?

Also, ascension64 is going to love recoding tobex to support Steam (I'm going to love recoding Widescreen, etc. etc.).

Here's a copy I had from way back, glad I held onto it.

This 'The Bigg Character Pack' is great because it has subtitle text along with the soundset.

I wish it were easy to subtitle all the various soundsets out there. I would do a few myself even.

I took a look at the code in this but not knowing weidu it seemed very strange code indeed.
