AMES, Iowa - Iowa State junior Darcie Dick has decided to transfer, head coach Bill Fennelly announced Thursday. Dick will finish out the semester before leaving Iowa State and returning home to Oklahoma.

"We appreciate the effort Darcie gave our program," Fennelly said. "Our program has always focused on family first and Darcie feels the need to be closer to her home in Oklahoma."

Dick, a 5-8 guard from Bessie, Okla., has seen action in three games this season after signing with the Cyclones out of Northern Oklahoma College last spring.

"I've enjoyed my experience at Iowa State and will cherish the friendships I've made here," Dick said. "I thank the coaches and my teammates for the opportunity to be a part of this program and I wish them the best the rest of the season. At this time I feel like it is in my best interest to return to Oklahoma where I can find a school that allows me to be closer to my family."

Fennelly and Dick will have no further comment.
