Welcome to the second annual Favorite Pokémon Tournament here in the Pokémon Polls board, where our goal is to determine the favorite Pokémon of the users here at the PokéCommunity! This will be a tournament that lasts several months, where we'll pit almost all the Pokémon from different types together to determine a winner. After we know the winner of each type, we'll add all of those Pokémon to a final poll, where the winner(s) will be crowned champion, and be known as PokéCommunity's favorite Pokémon!

If you haven't had the opportunity, please read the Rules/FAQ to find out more about the tournament:

Spoiler:

NOTE: Because of the limited number of poll spaces, not all eligible Pokémon have been included. If you want to vote for an unlisted Grass-type, check the "Other Pokémon" option represented by a (?), and leave a post with your vote.

Now that you know what the tournament is all about, what are you waiting for? Polls will remain open until November 2nd, so get voting!

Ooh how exciting I'm the first to vote! :)

I voted for Sceptile, Leafeon and Meganium and for the ones not on the list, my favourites are Parasect, Sawsbuck and Wormadam (Plant Cloak) :)

Sceptile's my all-time favourite starter and the one that managed to tear me away from sticking religiously to the Fire-type ones haha (also don't even get me started on the Mega!! Oh. My. Word. Cannot wait to use it!!); Leafeon's my third favourite Eeveelution and I actually only really got into it come Gen 6 when I tried one out on X - it's now part of my competitive (well, I say competitive lol it's really just the team I use whenever a Passer By challenges me haha) battling team and Meganium because the Johto starters are life and it did so well for me in my SS playthrough - the only time I defeated Red I had a Meganium on my team so it's hard to forget that haha :)

Here's the flowery delights that I picked from the garden:

Bulbasaur line: My fave of the Kanto starters, which are my least fave starter trio. Main reason probably because its line shows good design progression.

Chespin line: Kalos all have really great starters, and it's also the first non-reptilian Grass starter which is definitely a welcome change. Pretty tanky and a hard hitter at the same time, and I love Chesnaught's knight/fighter design concept which ties in with the other Kalos starters being based on RPG classes.

Snivy line: Again, another one with a good design concept and I love the European-like inspiration that went into designing Serperior. It's fast, may not hit hard but it's quite good in support roles.

Treecko line: Second fave of Hoenn's starters for me, and Sceptile even got a long-awaited Grass/Dragon typing which was something we all wanted to see.

Skiddo line: Always wanted a goat for a Pokemon, and it's one with fairly good offensive stats and learns some interesting moves.

Oddish line: One of my fave older generation Grass-type families, and it's kinda interesting how Bellossom looks so different to the rest of the line by being pure-Grass and having a different look.

Hoppip line: Cute and again good design progression, being based on the different phases of a dandelion.

Petilil line: Lilligant is such a destroyer with Quiver Dance + Petal Dance + Own Tempo, may not be the best thing competitively but in-game it's a different story.

Cottonee line: Unova's resident version exclusive Grass duo are both adorable as heck, and while Lilligant's more of an attacker, Whimsicott is more of a supporter which it abuses well with Prankster. And did we mention it's now also a Fairy-type?

Leafeon: Another Eeveelution, and for a while before 4th Gen we always wanted a Grass Eeveelution. Wish eventually granted, albeit with an unusual evolution method.

Shaymin & Celebi: Cute Grass-type legendaries for the win!

Putting in three votes this time, because it's impossible to choose between them~

First up is the Bulbasaur line. Whilst I started with Charmander in my first game, I've always been fond of Bulbasaur and it's evolutions.

Second is the Turtwig line, because Torterra is amazing. xD

Third is Lilligant. I adore Lilligant. It's graceful, elegant and whilst I guess it's just a nicer looking version of Bellossom, it's still one of the nicer grass-type designs.

1. Turtwig

He is so cute and awesome, and is by far my favorite grass starter! Plus, I do love them ground types!

2. Snivy

At first it was just cute, but then over time, it earned a worthy spot as second favorite starter. I never knew a Dragon Tail was that powerful.

Other Vote: Breloom because it is an awesome duo grass fight. Very weak to birds, but that's okay with me.

3. Leafeon

That gets a vote for being an Eeveelution.

4. Celebi and Shaymin

Cause I love their powers.

I'm voting for Venusaur, Victreebel, Jumpluff, Celebi, Sceptile, Ludicolo, Breloom, Cradily, Roserade, Abomasnow, Leafeon, Serperior, Simisage, Lilligant, Ferrothorn, Gogoat, and Trevenant. Jumpluff, Celebi, Breloom, Leafeon, and Lilligant are adorable, and so is Roserade to an extent. And the others are just really awesome, in my opinion.

Grass is one of those types I don't have particularly strong feelings for, but there's still a few that get a vote from me: Sceptile, Roserade, and then I selected Other for Cradily.

I guess I tend to lean towards reptilian Pokemon, so Sceptile gets in because of that, even though it's offensive stats don't quite match up with its movepool. It also gets a cool Grass/Dragon mega evolution, which is a plus.

Roserade I have this love-hate relationship with. It's an elegantly designed Pokemon with decent stats and movepool, so it's fun to use. On the other hand, it gave me so much trouble on my Rock monotype in Platinum. I kid you not when I say that Gardenia's and Cynthia's Roserades were one of the hardest things for me to fight in years.

Cradily: That **** be cray cray

(I almost vote for all grass type starters)

I voted for Serperior. It is one of my favorite starter of all. I like the desing and I love black/ehite when I picked it for starter!

I voted for other (Sawsbuck) because it was one of my favorite pokemon in my team in black/white. I love that it is part normal because I like to have a normal in my team. And he's soooo cute!! I love the autumn form!

I voted for Victreebell, one of my favorite poison/grass pokemon. I loved him in the anime!!

Well, i don't wanna say that by I'm rather disappointed not to see my favourite grass pokemon family not in the poll options: Cacnea and Cacturne.

Man! They are awesome grass pokemon. They are not that cute flowery things that we expect of grass type. They are THORNY! Both can do various absorbing and punch like moves. Cacturne looks so awesome and in a way horrifyin too! and the move NEEDLE ARM is just what completes my likeness for them....

I know it may be hard to do so, but I rather wish that all families of a particular type should be there in the polls........
(By the way, I also like torterra family, so I voted for them: Torterra looks damn awesome especially when Ash's used leaf storm in anime)

Definitely Whimsicott. Its design looks super-adorable, especially for an evolved Pokémon (which tend to lack in cuteness, generally, but Whimsicott managed to pull through), and when it comes to battling, it could be very fun to utilize and whatnot.

It's got Prankster ability, as most of us already know, which allows this Pokémon to strike first when hitting with non-damaging moves, such as Taunt, Encore, Leech Seed, and various other things that it has access to. All-together, they make it very fun to utilize, and could stall your foe for gargantuan amount of turns. Have used it plenty of times before, and not once has it managed to disappoint.

Second favorite would likely have to be Gogoat. Unlike some other Pokémon, we're able to ride this one in-game, which I find to be a pretty cool feature. Appearance-wise, it looks pretty great, too; it's meant to be a goat, which it definitely does seem like!

Also voted for Meganium and Tropius. Love their designs and had good times using them in game in the past.

My favorite line is Pumpkaboo, and what do ya know, Grass and Ghost both happen to be featured this week. But yeah besides them I voted Roserade and Torterra, some nostalgic gen IV 'mons (bc gen IV was nostalgic lol).

Bulbasaur, Bellsprout, Treecko, and Turtwig.

Bulbasaur is the original, and even if people call him "Easy Mode" he more than earns our respect. His diverse movepool makes him highly modifiable, and viable with almost any strategy.Although he specializes in damage over time and draining, he also can pack quite a punch with his Solar Beam, or the old faithful Razor Leaf.

Bellsprout may seem like the poor man's Bulbasaur, but he has enough variety to stand on his own. I just wish Victreebel actually had a proper cry in the anime, instead of that falsetto shriek.

Treecko is a speedy little lizard who focuses on physical attack, but still utilizes the tricks of the Grass trade, such as draining.

Turtwig, or more accurately Torterra, may be my favorite starter of them all. He has strength, he has versatility, he has an awesome design, and he has never let me down.
