Favorite Pokémon Tournament 2015 - Water

yePf5Xz.png

WATER

Welcome to the third annual Favorite Pokémon Tournament here in Pokémon General, where our goal is to determine the favorite Pokémon of the users here at the PokéCommunity! This will be a tournament that lasts several months, where we'll pit almost all the Pokémon from different types together to determine a winner. After we know the winner of each type, we'll add all of those Pokémon to a final poll, where the winner(s) will be crowned champion, and be known as PokéCommunity's favorite Pokémon!

If you haven't had the opportunity, please read the Rules/FAQ to find out more about the tournament:

Spoiler:

NOTE: Because of the limited number of poll spaces, not all eligible Pokémon have been included. If you want to vote for an unlisted Water-type, check the "Other Pokémon" option represented by a (?), and leave a post with your vote.

Now that you know what the tournament is all about, what are you waiting for? Polls will remain open until December 8th, so get voting!

Totodile line- Cuz Cyndaquil sux n iz overatted!!!!! because it's Totodile! Can't you sea that I think this line is totolly jawsome? If I caould, I would make a hundred accounts on this site to vote for them. I like them for half nostalgia, half badassery.

Froakie line- I probably wouldn't have voted for them if it weren't for my latedt X run. Thankfully, it reminded me why these guys are my favourite gen6 starter.

Piplup line- This one is more of an honourable mention as it was good in my first run.

That's about it. This is possibly my favourite type in the game, and I feel the starters are the one who serve this type well. **** Cyndaquil

I voted for Suicune, Swampert, Slowbro/King and Gyarados. I also ticked other for Kingler and Floatzel. Of course I would have voted for Lapras too had it not already conquered the ice type.

Hopefully Suicune wins or at the very least I'm wishing against Greninja again.

It's fitting I leave my fave type for last, and while I could have voted for everything here I wanted to mainly vote for the options I really loved the best.

Poliwag line: They're all adorable except for Poliwrath (who's more tough), but I do love Politoed for the time it proved itself as the king of the weather wars.

Slowpoke line: My fave 1st Gen Water-type line, because I find it unique in design. Giving a Mega to Slowbro was icing on the cake, that thing is so good at taking a hit.

Staryu line: Starmie is a fast and strong attacker, and even after all these years it still shines from a competitive aspect... literally.

Vaporeon: I always vote for Eeveelutions, so you likely expected that one.

Chinchou line: Unique type, and I find Chinchou unexpectedly adorable. 2nd Gen had some very unique Water-types looking at it.

Marill / Azumarill: A literal case of a Pokemon that just kept getting better with every new generation. Physical/special split, Huge Power and Fairy-type tacked onto its decent defenses and you have one heck of an adorable wrecker.

Mudkip line: Fave Hoenn starter, and it was the first starter I ever used in a Pokemon game so nostalgia biting me again here.

Lotad line: I love the Water/Grass combination, and it was why I grew to liking Sapphire's exclusives over their Ruby counterparts.

Wailmer line: A gentle giant but still a cutie nonetheless.

Kyogre: I remember that I enjoyed Ruby initially but then Kyogre grew on me and that led to me playing Sapphire come the remake versions. Its Primal form is also much better-looking than Groudon's.

Piplup line: I really liked Sinnoh's starters. Unique design themes and types, and how can not love a part-Steel penguin emperor?

Phione / Manaphy: Another cute Water-type, so it had to get the vote.

Oshawott line: You all knew this was obvious. It's my Pokemascot yo

Frillish line: If you don't count Oshy, this squishy would have to be my fave 5th Gen Water-type. I love the gender differences and the unique Water/Ghost typing.

Froakie line: My second fave Water starter. And you have to admit, ninja frogs are damn awesome.

Clauncher line: A reason why I have X as my main over Y. I couldn't resist having a crustacean that can actually launch some real firepower.

I really like a lot of Water type, but I don't really use them in battles.

1. Gyarados. Probably my favorite Water type and *almost* always in my team.
2. Feraligatr. If Pokemon were real and I had to choose a starter, Totodile is my choice <3
3. Lanturn. I have a special love for this thing. In double, with Jolteon and both have discharge and volt absorb... <3 Plus he have a good moveset.
4. (Other) Walrein. Just because. I really like it and even if I haven't bred one yet I had one in a game and I really liked it. Gonna breed one someday.

Though not my favorite type, it does have two of my favorite Pokemon ever!

1. Totodile - first starter i ever had, has been my favorite water type starter ever since and third overall (behind Chimchar and Treecko)
2. Other - Where is Buizel!!!!!??? This is outrageous! as I'm sure you can tell, Buizel is my favorite Pokemon ever (by a wide margin), 100% success rate of having it on my team if available, great speed and attack and it is so darn adorable! So my vote goes to Buizel as well!

Voting Vaporeon, Palkia, and Kabutops. I think this is pretty much my first time voting for more than one thing at once in this set of polls so I guess I could've gone all out and just voted for all the water types that seem cool but... eh. Those three are my faves. n_n;

I managed to narrow my choices down to 4 in this extremely hard category to vote for. I adore so many water types aaa

Anyways, I voted for my all time favorite water mon, Jellicent, because I just love this thing beyond explanation. I also voted for the Staryu family, the Marill family because I find them to have the best shinies, and the Oshawott family.

Special vote goes to the Spheal line <3

Meh... I'm not a huge fan of water-types, but I love the Lotad line.

C'mon - how can you deny the amazingness that is Ludicolo? I don't think I've ever gone a whole Hoenn playthrough without having one on my team. Even on Omega Ruby I made sure to get an early trade... :>

I thought Staryu/Starmie would get more votes considering how useful it is.

There are so many to mention, but since I can't mention Lapras due to it winning the Ice-type, I will give mention to Lanturn, as that typing is neat and it's one i've liked since the beginning in GSC, i've already talked about Azumarill in the Fairy-type thread, and Clawitzer is cool for its design and ability. And Palkia is one of my favorite legendaries. Those are just some I could name right now, haha.

Didn't realize how little I cared for water types until this poll.
I went ahead with Milotic & Suicune.
Suicune was the first legendary that I actually really loved.
Milotic is infinitely useful with it's competitive ability in VGC and it's also quite pretty.

Really wish there were more seal and otter water Pokemon.
